Traditional backpacker accommodation comprises shared dormitories or rooms and shared bathrooms - along with shared cooking and bar facilities.
FunkyTown however is what's termed a Flashpacker establishment and entitles the guest to their own bedroom with bathroom en suite. The shared socialising facilities remain, so guests can still socialise with other guests in the kitchen, bar and TV areas.
Flashpackers also provide more comfortable accommodation, not only in space, but in bedding and trendy room accessories. Flashpacker establishments also provide a harmonious, yet trendy, environment and are sometimes referred to as Art Hotels.
Flashpacker travelers can be defined as backpackers with a little more income, and are very technically savvy. They require Wi Fi in their accommodation, safes in their rooms for gadgets, printers for photographs and e-Ticketing, and clean, decent, sophisticated, stylish rooms and bathrooms. They generally eat out more than a backpacker, but like the option that they can stay in and meet other guests and cook their own meals, if they wish.
At FunkyTown we have no age restraints. All we would like is for those travelling to mix with fellow guests and learn about other cultures and countries.
Staying in FunkyTown is like being part of an art exhibition...
